Fundamental Objectives
- Establishment of a clearing house with the institutional set-up on population movement capable of guiding, advising and assisting local institutions in the design, implementation and monitoring advocacy programs towards orderly population movement.
- Development of grassroots training and animation program on disaster mitigation and safe migration with focus on women and children at risk.
- Rallying support for the ratification of UN Refugee Convention-1951, Migration Convention-1990 and Second Optional Protocol-1977 of Geneva Conventions.
- Lobbying for the enactment of necessary laws for internally displaced persons in compliance with the UN Guiding Principles-1998.
- Consolidation of regional efforts to combat human trafficking through conclusion of bilateral/multilateral agreements.
- Development and dissemination of safe migration package for migrant populations with particular focus on overseas employment.
- Carry out research on the demand side of trafficked labor and irregular migrant labor in the countries of destination.
